Example of rough wireframes created on whiteboard using use case screnarios as the basis of team discussion.

In order to move from our chosen concept (a web based electronic lab notebook with a light-weight desktop quick capture component) to a more concrete definition of the system, we used use case scenarios to screen wireframes. We took these scenarios from our sequence model. Using these screnarios as a basis for discussion, the team set to work creating rough screen navigation maps for each scenario on a whiteboard.

Scenarios
1. An inventor is reading an article on the internet. The article inspires a new idea and he would like to capture it quickly and then continue reading the article.

2. An inventor is testing one of the prototypes he created for a specific idea. The idea has already been documented, but he needs to add these test results and their implications to the record for the idea.

3. An inventor needs to do a prior art search (look for MEDRAD projects, existing patents, or published ideas that relate to the idea he is currently working on).
